AD
& BIOGAS
Operating across the world, A-Consult has almost 40 years of experience installing over 8,500 precast concrete tanks of which more than 1500 have been used for primary / secondary digesters, digestate storage and mixer / reception tanks. Manufactured under factory controlled conditions, A-Consult offer a product constructed from high strength concrete panels and being precast, installation is speedy and generally unhampered by inclement weather conditions, a real consideration for meeting tight programme dates.
Our digester tank range features diameters up to 50m, with tank heights up to 12m increasing wall heights of 100mm increments. Cast in items such as sockets, flanges and man ways can be facilitated in a factory using during panel construction, this can greatly assist with the post fixing of pipework, mixers, feeders and gas tight roofs, resulting in programme and cost reduction for on-site working. Gas tight precast concrete roofs can be offered as an alternative to standard double membrane gas tight domes, non gas tight roofs are also available for digestate storage. Digestate storage tank diameters up to 50m and can be easily converted into digester tanks at a later date should you wish to increase the capacity of your plant.

AVAILABLE ROOF TYPES
The diversity offered by a range of Biogas service providers means it is crucial A-Consult to develop its precast concrete tank system to allow the different types of roof installation required by various process techniques.
Foil Fabric Double Membrane
– Gas Tight
- Manufactured from biaxially reinforced fabrics with a high-grade, chemically resistant PVC coating.
- Operational pressures range from 0 to 5mbar, offering maximum gas storage.
- Domes available for tank structures up to 40m in diameter.
- Quarter Dome option available, providing all the benefits of a standard double membrane roof with a lower dome height, ideal for potential planning restrictions.
Precast Concrete Roof and Foil Fabric Single Membrane
– Non Gas Tight
- Reduces emissions of both gas and odor.
- Available in Grey or Green.
- Openings available for over-the-top mixing.
- Robust construction using UV-resistant reinforced foil.
Insulated Precast Concrete
– Gas Tight
- Available as a pre-insulated unit with PE lining for concrete protection in the gasification zone.
- Robust construction allows for pre-formed openings to support mixers, access hatches, and pressure release plates.
- Service openings and manway access are available as options on this highly flexible roof solution.
- Typically available in cheesecake or half-moon segments.
Ancillaries & Features
PE-Liner and Service Box Features for Enhanced Durability and Efficiency
A-Consult’s tanks are equipped with an integrated PE-Liner for optimal corrosion protection in gasification zones.
This liner also protects the underside of roofs and internal gas-tight structures. Joints are welded to ensure a watertight and gas-tight seal.
Openings in the tank walls enable seamless integration with mixers, pipework, pressure release valves, and sight glasses, enhancing efficiency and supporting long-term stability.
Efficient Maintenance with the Service Box
A-Consult’s Service Box simplifies maintenance by allowing mixers to be removed without opening the membrane roof or decommissioning the digester. This prevents gas loss and enhances safety.
The Service Box has large openings for easy removal of mixer blades up to 1.5 meters in diameter, and features precise over/underpressure valves.
A frost-proof pressure valve ensures year-round performance. Maintenance is made easier with a windowed opening, reducing methane emissions and supporting sustainability.
The tanks can be equipped with integrated starter beams, which can be cast during production, or separate starter beams that can be attached after installation.
The key features of the Agri-Tank are:
- Cost-effective – Off-site production ensures fast installation.
- Durable construction – Provides an expected lifespan of 40 to 60 years.
- Guaranteed quality – Manufactured under strictly controlled factory conditions.
- Installation – Possible under almost any conditions.
- Safety – Standardized construction manual.
- Flexibility – Allows for disassembly and reassembly in the future.
- Over 30 years of experience in tank production.
- Minimal maintenance costs.
- Installation options – Can be installed with or without soil covering.
